Pastel Apple

I Began by drawing the outline of my apple with a yellow pastel. I used red marks to show the color of the apple. The marks are rounded to show the circle like shape of the apple. For the more filled dark marks on the apple, I marked with dark red. I added yellow and orange strokes to show the light parts of the apple. There was one bruise on the back side which i added purple and brown to create the color. The ways I showed my light source was by the reflection of the likes on the top of the apple. Also the white marks on the table showing reflection. I added a shadow of he apple to show the direction of he light source.

Pastel Still Life Project

I began by setting up a few different ways of using my objects that would be the most interesting. I like the idea of the biggest object in the back and have three of the same objects down front, but all still connected. I found it interesting by putting all of the objects partly on top or leaned on the other. A thumbnail sketch is a small drawing to prepare you for your final drawing and exploring many ideas. The viewfinder gave me an estimate on how much space my object would take on my paper and help me choose which idea I liked the best. I used shading around the edges to show that it was a round object. I also used the light source to reflect on the objects to show the shape and their figure. I created light source by adding white marks in my objects where the light hit it. Also on my background and the table my objects are on by adding white to the light side and black to the oposite.

Acrylic Landscape Painting

When I was organizing everything I wanted to include in my painting, I had to think about how much space each part will use. I wanted a night scene with New York city across from the water and I loved the look of grass. I chose monochromatic as my style for my painting and the color I chose was blue because it was the most realistic color for night. My painting is a picture of New York from the outsiders perspective over water. I began by painting the painting a light blue for the base color, then added a misty blue sky color for a night time sky look with few spread clouds. I included a moon and stars for an extra night theme. Then for he  buildings in New York, I used tape to make the most realistic outline of buildings and showed different shades of blue due to the light source and a variety of the building types. For the water, I made a darker tint because water is dark at night and added the reflection of the moon in places it would hit the water. The grass was made with different shades of blue and used strokes to make the texture shown. I created a moon for the light source. I made some sides of the buildings a lighter blue to show where the light hits it. I also put the reflection of the moon on the water. The scheme of my painting was a dark night across the water of  New York. For my water I used left and right brush strokes and made the paint thick to show waves and colors in the water. For the grass I used flicking up brush stroke to show the shape of the grass and the texture. I used a variety of colors darks, and lights in my painting to show the light and dark areas of the picture.

Ceramics Project

The medium of my project is clay that has small particles mixed with water to make a pliable media. The size of my ceramic is medium to small. The technique I used to make this is wedging, I pounded it to remove air so that when I fired it in the kiln it wouldn't blow up. My piece is a rounded type sculpture that I use to put my jewelry on and any extra important items. When I was creating the design for my project, I knew I wanted a cross to be shown somewhere, and I like the idea of  a sun shaped sculpture. So I drew what shape I wanted my sculpture to be and cut it out for guidelines for creating the clay ceramic. I learned ways to prepare of how my sculpture was going to look like, I also learned  different ways you can color and design a ceramic. If I could change my project, I would definitely add a pattern or design to the white space of my sculpture.

Photograph

When starting the photoshop picture, I took a picture of myself in a place that defines me. Once I got the right picture, I uploaded it to Photoshop and began editing it. I made it black and white and sharpened the editing of my picture and resized it.
